Rehearsal Coordinator Skills

No one ever really hires just a Rehearsal Coordinator, but can I tell you how important a Rehearsal Coordinator is? When is the next bridesmaid supposed to know when it is her turn to go? How does the Father of the Bride (FOB) know exactly what to do once he has walked his beautiful daughter down the aisle? Having someone at your rehearsal to answer these questions is oh so important. There are a lot of details that go into a simple ceremony and having someone there to answer your questions and easing your mind on the night of your rehearsal is so worth every second of hiring them. So, make sure that your next Wedding Planner comes with Rehearsal Coordinating skills too!

A Simple Monogram

Having a theme at a wedding is something that you typically see. Whether it be a New York theme, since that is where the couple met, or a color theme of orange and yellow and everything from the flowers to the bride’s shoes are those colors, you can always find a universal idea or thought at every wedding. But, check out this modern theme of a simple monogram. This monogram was initially designed for the invitations, but the bride took the monogram and worked it into all aspects of her wedding. From the cake to the programs to the table numbers, the monogram was utilized all over the ceremony and reception. I especially love the way it was turned into a light display on the side of the reception venue wall. It is a unique idea that creates an effortless theme throughout an entire wedding.

October 2, 2010 Wedding – Matt & Joanna

What a beautiful, fun and exciting wedding this was to plan and execute. From the beginning Joanna and Matt wanted something ‘different’ … a wedding unlike the hundreds that they had already been to. We originally had rented out Mason’s and the Park, but when it was announced that Mason’s was closing, we had to resort to Plan B. Plan B was the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria, but with a twist. They still wanted something to be different and unique, so we turned a side meeting room into a lounge area with its own bar and white couches and the outdoor patio into a cigar bar, where people could go outside and have a few puffs. The wedding ended up being absolutely amazing and so much fun. Did I mention that they hired Tainted Love to entertain the guests and dance the night away? Yes, yes they did. It was a fabulous wedding and Tainted Love was the perfect way to end the evening.

October … the New May

It seems like yesterday when every weekend in May was filled with weddings. Now, every weekend in October is filled with weddings. Why is that? How did October become the new May? I guess is Northern California, the weather in May could be as crummy or as fabulous as the weather in October. October has seen some of the greatest sunny weekends over the last few years, which could possibly be the answer. According to Yahoo.com, December is the most popular month for wedding proposals. Could this be another reason why October is the new May? Quite possibly! If more people are getting engaged in December, perhaps they don’t want to wait an entire year and a half until the big day. If that is the case, then October would give them 10 months to plan and that sounds like the perfect length of an engagement to me. So, leave those October weekends open … I am sure that there is a save-the-date or two in the mail with your name on it!
